Los Lobos and The Stranahan Theater

The Stranahan Theater is excited to announce a night of culture and amazing music by legendary band Los Lobos and northern Mexican group Los Sementales de Nuevo Leon on NOVEMBER 7, 2019. The bands will be performing a medley of their greatest hits throughout the night.
Los Lobos music has been described as an eclectic mix of Tex-Mex, rock, folk, country, blues, R&B and traditional Mexican and Spanish music. Their brake out hit was in 1987, La Bamba, which they scored for the movie by the same name. They have traveled the world sharing their music for four decades and are now bringing their global phenom to Toledo. Lead singer Cesar Rosas stated, “We are looking forward to see the people of Toledo this August and promise to put on a killer set.”

Los Sementales de Nuevo Leon originate from the northern part of Mexico, specifically from Monterrey. Performing for over two decades, they are known for their meld of original songs, corridos, romanticos, polkas, mariachi and conjuntas that have never gone out of style.

Los Lobos is an American rock band from East Los Angeles, California, United States. Their music is influenced by rock and roll, Tex-Mex, country, zydeco, folk, R&B, blues, brown-eyed soul, and traditional music such as cumbia, boleros and norteños. The band gained international stardom in 1987, when their cover version of Ritchie Valens’ “La Bamba” topped the charts in the U.S., the UK and several other countries. In 2015, they were nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.In 2018, they were inducted into Austin City Limits Hall of Fame.

The Stranahan Theater is a 2,500-seat theater in a primary and secondary market that serves the Northwest Ohio and South East Michigan regions. We host a variety of high-quality entertainment, from Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera to Jerry Seinfeld. This October the Stranahan Theater will embark on its 50th year of operation and will continue this Golden Celebration until September of 2020!
