1961 - Bob Dylan played a set at Izzy Young’s Folklore Centre. On the same night, Dylan met his hero Woody Guthrie at the home of a friend in East Orange, NJ.
1962 - Peter, Paul & Mary inked a deal with Warner Bros. Records.
1964 - The Beatles recorded German versions of their hits in Paris. At their first session outside of Abbey Road studios, the Fab Four recorded “Komm, Gib Mir Deine Hand” and “Sie Liebt Dich.”
1988 - INXS had a No. 1 hit with their song, “Need You Tonight.”
1991 - Upset by the unauthorized re-release of their old material, The Stone Roses attacked the offices of their former record company, Revolver Records. The band doused MD Paul Birch, his girlfriend and their Mercedes in paint.
2006 - Bryan Adams performed an earthquake relief concert before 10,000 fans in Karachi, Pakistan. It marked the first show put on by a Western act in decades.
